FAQs

Are you Government Licensed?

Yes, since 1999 Home Sweet Home Care is approved and licensed by Eastern Health. A government representative will visit all our offices annually to monitor and review our policies and processes to ensure we meet government standards for Home Care Agencies.

What hours are you available?

Our office maintains regular business hours; however, home care service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We make every effort to ensure your telephone call is answered by a live individual during business hours. In the event you have to leave a message, your call will be returned promptly.

Will you work a short term assignment?

Yes. Many of our clients only need our services for a short period of time.A good example is following major surgery, when it is not possible or advisable for you to return to your normal routine for several months.

Other clients only require assistance a few hours a week. An example of this would be someone who wants to remain independent but no longer has the energy and desire to drive his car to run weekly errands. Another example would be our Respite Care, where we give the family caregiver a break each week by taking over for her for a day, or perhaps a couple of days each month. You will find our services are very flexible and designed to meet our client's needs.

Are your employees bonded and insured?

All employees of Home Sweet Home Care must provide Criminal Record clearance documentation from their local Police Department. We cover all employees with general liability insurance and worker's compensation insurance.

Will the same Home Care Provider come each day?

Home care clients need workers who will be there for the long term, as frequently changing workers can be disruptive and difficult for people in vulnerable situations. Home Sweet Home Care boasts a very high retention rate of clients and employees alike the best indication of home care quality with many of our original clients and workers still with us.

What if I want to change my home care worker? Can I?

Yes, just call the office and make that request. We will handle the rest.

Can you sit with someone during their hospital stay?

Absolutely. We offer respite care to family caregivers as you just cannot always be there for your loved one. That's where we come in.
